Michelle Taylor and her business partner were Defendants in litigation brought by Gavin de Becker & Associates for Misappropriation of Trade Secrets, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Breach of Contract, and Fraud, among other actions.

In September, 2000, as part of a related criminal investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department obtained search warrants for the home of Michelle Taylor, the home of her business partner, and the offices of their attorney.

On September 26th, 2000, investigators from LAPD and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department executed search warrants and recovered thousands of documents, computer data, and computer programs stolen from Gavin de Becker & Associates.

On November 28th, 2000 the Court rendered Judgment "in favor of Plaintiffs Gavin de Becker & Associates and Gavin de Becker, and against  one of the two  defendants," and issued a Permanent Injunction against  one of the two defendants.

On December 22, 2000 the Court ordered Michelle Taylor to return materials "stolen from Gavin de Becker & Associates," and she did subsequently return additional materials in open court.

The Court also issued a finding that Plaintiffs Gavin de Becker & Associates "have shown reasonable likelihood of success on the merits of their claims against  the Defendants."

On February 2nd, 2001, the Court issued a Permanent Injunction against Michelle Taylor, enjoining her and all persons acting under, in concert with, and/or on her behalf from, among other things:

"Representing in any manner whatsoever that Michelle Taylor is or was a designer of MOSAIC™; that she designed corporate security, safety and privacy, executive protection, threat assessment and/or workplace violence programs for the Los Angeles Police Department, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Reserve Board, Yale University and/or the United States Marshals Service; that she testified or prepared testimony for the California Legislature; and/or that she trained the FBI, CIA, National Reconnaissance Organization, Secret Service, United States Supreme Court and/or the United States Marshals Service;"

"Using for any purpose whatsoever any and all confidential data and trade secrets belonging to GDBI and/or de Becker;"

"Retaining, reading, copying, using, publishing, taking notes or extracts from and/or disclosing any portion of the contents of any and all non-public GDBI and/or de Becker materials;"
